Someone in Dubai had a genius idea.

Hey Baber this is totally unrelated but I have a question. I have a friend that want to import a new 2014 Toyota Tundra from the US to Karachi, what is the best way to do it and is it better to get it from Australia? Thanks.

Hey! There are plenty of Tundra already available in the imported car market. But if he still wants to import, than I'd suggest US is the better option, since Australia imports them so farther distance to import from and added costs of a thing gone to Australia from US then Karachi. And if he doesn't have experience in importing/dealing with the goons at customs, etc, I'd suggest he go to a car importer who prefers a good nights sleep over loosing it for cheat money.
Just avoid official Toyota dealership, they'll put a price 200-300% more of what a vehicle importer will get him one in.

I second what the other guy said. Stay away from Toyota dealers, car dealers are bad in general but Toyota dealers in far flung corners of the globe are total douchebags.

The Tundra is not officially sold in Australia anyway. The closest thing we have is a Hilux.

Oh? For some reason I thought that the Tundra was also sold there.

That sounds like a good idea. He said that he knows a couple people at the port that will help him get some stuff in, but he just wanted me to ask around what was the best option. The only reason that he wants to import one is because he want's it built to his specifications.

A couple of import dealers are bringing them in privately and converting them for RHD. So they are available here at huge expense only. About the same as three Hiluxes or one Range Rover Sport.

If he knows than it is also fine, he definitely save as well since car importers will add their commission too. Good luck!
